March 26-27, 2010, Friday night, Saturday

Pinewood Derby Race - Gentlemen, start your engines!  March brings us to the races as each boy works to make the fastest and coolest car out of a solid block of wood. Den races are held, followed by Pack finals to determine the representatives at the District races.  This time honored Cub Scout tradition is not just for the scouts anymore.  We have a spectator race for parents, siblings or friends who wish to make a car.  We also offer a penny raffle with donations from local businesses and families during the race. See the Pinewood Derby Page for more information.

Looking Forward

(just some of the upcoming events: check back frequently for updates!)

April, 2010 (date and time to be announced)

Hike / Bike-a-thon Fundraiser - This is an individual fundraising event for all who are interested.  This fundraiser is specifically designed for boys interested in raising money to offset their summer camp costs.  It is usually held in Mine Falls Park in Nashua.

May, 2010 (dates and times to be announced)

Chuckwagon Derby - This is a skills competition between units in the district for boys of all ages.  Boys from each pack are put onto teams and assigned to wagons.  There are several stations located around a field that will test each wagon’s teamwork at scouting-related tasks.  Last year, our wagon took first prize!

Memorial Day Parade - 76 trombones led the big parade with 110 Cub Scouts close behind.  Pack 20 is proud to participate in the annual Hudson Memorial Day parade.  The scouts don their “Class A” uniforms while marching through town and handing out candy along the way.

June 7, 2010, 6:30-8pm, Robinson Pond

Outdoor Campfire Closing Pack Meeting - “We’d like S’More, please!,” is the cry heard from the Scouts at our Annual Outdoor Campfire Closing Pack Meeting at Robinson Pond.  Ghost stories and camp songs abound.  The scouts also graduate to the next rank at a special ceremony recognizing their hard work over the past year.  There are no pack meetings in July or August.

Summer, 2010 (date and time to be announced)

Baseball Game Campout - Take me out to the ball game and let me sleep on the field…What!?  Typically in August, the scouts and their families get the unique opportunity to attend a professional baseball game and then camp on the diamond after the “regular” folks go home.  The past two years have been at the Nashua Pride who also offer a mini-baseball camp and behind the scenes tour of the stadium.  Breakfast is provided in the morning.
